Ten Warning Signs of AD
- Memory loss affecting job skills. (Frequent forgetfulness and unexplained confusion)
- Problems with language. (Substituting inappropriate words that make comprehension
difficult)
- Disorientation to time and place. (Becoming truly lost at home or nearby)
- Poor or decreased judgment. (Choosing dress clothes to wear to bed)
- Problems with abstract thinking. (Increased difficulty recognizing numbers or doing
simple addition)
- Misplacing things. (Putting items in inappropriate places such as clothes in the
kitchen cabinet)
- Changes in mood or behavior. (Rapid mood swings with no apparent basis)
- Changes in personality. (Someone who is generally easygoing may become quickly withdrawn
and fearful)
- Loss of Initiative. (Remaining uninterested in many or all previous interests)
- Difficulty performing familiar tasks. (Forgetting the entire tasks, not just aspects)
