Ten Warning Signs of AD

  1. Memory loss affecting job skills. (Frequent forgetfulness and unexplained confusion)
  2. Problems with language. (Substituting inappropriate words that make comprehension difficult)
  3. Disorientation to time and place. (Becoming truly lost at home or nearby)
  4. Poor or decreased judgment. (Choosing dress clothes to wear to bed)
  5. Problems with abstract thinking. (Increased difficulty recognizing numbers or doing simple addition)
  6. Misplacing things. (Putting items in inappropriate places such as clothes in the kitchen cabinet)
  7. Changes in mood or behavior. (Rapid mood swings with no apparent basis)
  8. Changes in personality. (Someone who is generally easygoing may become quickly withdrawn and fearful)
  9. Loss of Initiative. (Remaining uninterested in many or all previous interests)
  10. Difficulty performing familiar tasks. (Forgetting the entire tasks, not just aspects)
